Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon Organized Thai Festival 2025 in Yangon to Further Promote Thai Popularity in Myanmar
The Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon host the Thai Festival 2025 in Yangon from 21–22 June 2025 at Novotel Yangon Max. This marks the second time the event has been held in Myanmar, with the support of True-Dtac, Myanmar Airways International, and Novotel Yangon Max, as well as key partners including the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Thai Trade Office in Yangon, the Thai Business Association of Myanmar (TBAM), the Thai–Myanmar Business Council (TMBC), GMM Grammy, ONE31, and GMMTV.
On 21 June 2025, H.E. Mr. Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar, presided over the opening ceremony. The event is attende by representatives of the Thai private sector companies from both Thailand and those operating in Myanmar, members of the media, and members of the Thai and Myanmar communities in Yangon.
The festival features two main components:
1. Booths from 54 Thai and Myanmar companies, showcasing a wide variety of Thai products and services such as food, health and beauty products, tourism, household items, artist merchandise, retail goods, fashion, and education.
2. Stage activities including Thai contemporary dance performances by TAT, Thai cooking demonstrations (Tom Yum Goong and Mango Sticky Rice), special interviews with Thai actor Film Thanapat, and famous Myanmar actors Alinn Yaung and Hein Thit. Musical performances are held by Thai artists including Noom Kala (GMM Grammy), Dome Jaruwat and Gam Wichayanee (ONE31), Perth-Santa and Aou-Boom (GMMTV), and Baron Haynes, the winner of the T-Pop Star Challenge, Myanmar Season 1. The highlight of the event is the final round of T-Pop Star Challenge, Myanmar Season 2, featuring 8 talented Myanmar contestants who perform Thai songs live.
Thai Festivals are events organized by the Royal Thai Embassies and Team Thailand around the world to promote Thailand’s soft power in multiple dimensions - products and cuisine, culture, music, and tourism. The Festivals held in many countries have received overwhelming positive responses, and this year’s festival in Yangon was no exception, attracting more than 6,000 attendees over the two days. The total sales generated at the event exceeded 128 million kyats, or approximately 2 million baht.

These online platforms will continue to be used to promote future events. The Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon intends to organise the festival annually, reflecting the strong and multidimensional ties between Thailand and Myanmar, especially the enduring people-to-people relations as close neighbors.
